Many have seen the video work of award-winning Filmmaker Ken Burns who has created documentaries covering subjects as diverse a the Civil War, Baseball, American Jazz and most recently, World War II. The style Burns and his team use incorporates motion effects applied to archival photos with music, narration, sound effects and titles to create moving pieces that recall by-gone times. Thanks to modern computer-editing technology, this style can be used to re-create your family’s unique history. They’re called “Photo Montages” because they rely heavily on still photographs. But through the magic of computer editing, special motion effects can make the pictures seem to come alive.
In any medium to large city, there may be a number of video companies that will agree to undertake this kind of project. But not all photo montages are created equal. Many times, it’s the artistry and creativity of the editor that’s the difference between a ho-hum “slide show”- type presentation and a true work of art.
We've created this special downloadable report to help you better understand the ins and outs of photo montages and make a more informed decision when it comes to selecting a production studio.
